Arabia Uncovered

The U.S. material for “Arabia Uncovered”, a Smithsonian Channel documentary special, was produced by Maggie Burnette Stogner. It explores the little-known history of the Arabian Peninsula, from its first settlers over 6,000 years ago, to the sophisticated civilizations that emerged along the incense trade routes, to the early pilgrimage roads to Mecca.

Discover Saudi Arabia’s fascinating past, captured in over 200 artifacts. Each item reveals stories of the migrants, traders, and pilgrims who have been drawn to this land for centuries. The rich heritage of the Arabian Peninsula is coming into focus, thanks to recent excavations and an extraordinary exhibition that has just reached American soil. Get a firsthand look at these priceless artifacts, from fragile glassware to massive stone statues, and see how these relics are just the first of many discoveries to come.
